Curriculum

KMS students spend their school days in a variety of classes all designed to enrich their educational experience and further prepare themselves for the next step in their educational journey.

Accompanied by district wide curriculum programs including iReady,  which is an online learning platform, consisting of two parts: Diagnostic and Personalized Instruction. Students are able to enrich their reading and/or mathematics abilities using iReady,  receive personalized learning in those content areas, and also have the ability to monitor progress throughout the school year.

KMS teachers are able to meet their students' needs exactly where they are in mathematics and reading through data provided by iReady with the sole purpose to increase their student’s learning gains in those content areas.

New to KMS this year is Bobcat Hour-(Success period).  During this class, KMS students are provided with two new programs. One designed to enrich their minds (MindUp) and another one  designed to guide students' success in High School, college and  the workforce. (Major Clarity).

MindUp is a curriculum based on the Social and Emotional Learning needs of students. MindUp is geared towards providing a foundation for safe and positive schooling, and enhances a student's ability for success in learning and in life.

Major Clarity is an online platform designed to help ensure that every student’s education leads to a successful career outcome by allowing them to "test-drive" different levels of academic planning (2-4 year degrees) and postsecondary decision making (joining the workforce).
